There is a zinc headstone in the cemetery, this is the first we found in Canada. It is of William Hamilton Lowe who died December 13, 1882 at the age of 42.
The Cawston Community Cemetery was established in the early 1900s and is located in the Okanagan-Similkameen Regional District.
This is a small cemetery with approximately 237 interments.
Richard Lowe Cawston, pioneer rancher of the Cawston district, and for whom the town of Cawston is named, arrived in Osoyoos from Stratford, Ontario, in 1874.
