The young ladies who helped us went that extra mile for us, and printed some less requested materials about places to visit. They even drew us a map so we would know exactly where to go to find these hidden treasures.
They offer a large selection of local information, maps and regional guides to the area.
Vernon is home to 27 outstanding murals and a walking tour guide is available at the visitor centre.
"Tourism Vernon is here to help.
Every community brags about how wonderful they are, how great the weather is, how much there is to see and do. And guess what? Vernon is no different. So what follows is our little boast about our area.
Located in the northern region of British Columbia’s beautiful Okanagan Valley, our gentle climate, relaxed lifestyle and outstanding recreational and cultural experiences make Vernon & area one of the most desirable places to visit. As a year round destination, we offer a wide choice of amenities, experiences and places to stay. Vernon which was established in 1846, is a small city (population 36,000) surrounded by agricultural land, forests, mountains and, of course, lakes; including what has been called one of the most beautiful lakes in the world – Kalamalka Lake – the lake of many colors.
If you are considering Vernon or area as a travel destination for groups or FITs, let us assist you. We can provide itineraries matched to your interests and requirements, we can recommend places to stay, dine and visit and put you in touch with the right people. Just ask!"
