Located inside the Reno Events Center is a sculpture made up of colorful fiberglass shapes of different sizes that look much like seeds, for which this piece derives its name. There's a plaque located on the ground floor next to this piece that reads:

Title: Luminous Balloon Seeds

Artist: Cork Marcheschi

Materials: Fiberglass, aluminum, steel cable and neon light (located on the ground floor next to the escalator and on the second floor of the South Wing); Rondels made of lacquer stained safety glass are located on the ground floor of the south wing; and Dichronic Glass Disks are located on the outside wall of the west Wing.

Installation Date: December 2004

Marcheschi has his own professional website here and this sculpture among many other colorful sculptures that can be viewed. His sculptures have a cosmic, ethereal look and feel to them and he's known for taking advantage of neon lights to illuminate his works of art to make them viewable even at night.
