The Kamloops Visitor Centre is more than just welcoming travelers and providing information on the community and surrounding areas, the goal of the Kamloops Visitor Centre is to identify the needs of visitors to Kamloops and provide them information on how to best enjoy the city and surrounding areas.
Kamloops Visitor Centre has a newly installed Electric Car Charger. It is a 60 amp Level with 2 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.
If you plan your trip to Kamloops in late September to the end of October be sure and go to the Adams River Salmon Run. 2014 is supposed to be one of the most specular. In 2010, 30 million sockeye salmon flooded the Fraser on their way back to the Adams River. It is estimated at least that many will return in 2014.
The dominant Salmon Run only happens every four years. The next dominant run will be in 2018 and so on. Of course the salmon come every year.
The first time we went it was on a dominant year that was unknown to us. It was a most spectacular sight and still remembered to this day. If you ever have the opportunity to see a salmon run, it will be an event to remember.
