The cemetery Schosshalde is located at the eastern border of Bern, a part of the area is on the soil of the neighboring municipality Ostermundingen and the cemetery is also used as the cemetery of Ostermundigen.
It was created in 1877 and hes been extended several times since then, the last time in 1952 to the current size of 16.8 hectares.
