BC FRUITLANDS

Much of the North Shore (6,000 acres) was incorporated by British-owned BC Fruitlands in 1909, expanding to 22,000 acres by 1920, including North Kamloops, Brocklehurst and Westsyde. Immigrant workers from Europe, Asia and India leased many acres of land and tended the extensive orchards and vegetable fields.
