Although the train was locked away in the tunnel on the day that we visited, we did get a picture of one car that was outside on a siding. I think it was going into the shop for repairs. This train is still a work in progress. The Locomotive was built and completed between 1985 and 1991. In 1994 the 1/2 mile of tracks and ties were laid, and on July 31,1994 the Golden Spike was driven.
The engine is currently a 1/4 scale model F-3 Electro-motive. Soon to take it's place will be a 4-6-4 Hudson Live Steam Locomotive that is being rebuilt.
Located at the Lion's Park in Waterman, Illinois, the WWRR operates on Sundays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm from Mother's Day through Labor Day. Special events occur on Easter, Halloween, & the Christmas Holiday Season. Private parties can be arranged. Check the web page for specific information.
