Long Description:
Office of the Daily News is one of the smaller murals in Vernon and the only one in black and white. Its size does not diminish the workmanship and creativity of the artists.

The Vernon News was the first newspaper in the Okanagan and was founded by Angus K. Stuart and W.J. Harber on May 14, 1891.

In 1969, the newspaper was sold to the Thompson Publishing company who continued to publish the newspaper until 1996. Due to decreasing circulation and low revenues, the 105 year old newspaper business ceased publication.

When it originally started, the Vernon News was published once a week, on every Thursday. By October 1954, the newspaper was publishing twice a week, on every Tuesday and Thursday.

By 1973, the Vernon News had become the Vernon Daily News which is still publishing today.

All the murals are well done paying tribute to the artist's talent and creativity for any passersby to enjoy.

The murals are numbered and we will showcase
