Das Karlsruher Schloss wurde 1715 im Barockstil als Residenzsitz für Markgrafen Karl Wilhelm von Baden-Durlach errichtet.
Das ursprünglichen Gebäudes wurde von Jakob Friedrich von Batzendorf gebaut. Zuerst war das Gebäude aus Holz gebaut. 1746 wurde das Gebäude grundlegend erneuert und es wurde aus Stein gebaut. Auffälligste äußere Merkmale dieses Umbaus waren die größeren Fenster und Türen sowie die beiden Pavillonbauten zwischen dem Mitteltrakt und den Seitenflügeln der Anlage. Das Schloss umfasst zwei Stockwerke sowie Mansarden im Dachgeschoss.
Der Turm hat 7 Stockwerke und ist 51 m hoch.
Renovierung:
Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs brannte das Karlsruher Schloss im September 1944 durch Bombenangriffe aus. Zwischen 1955 und 1966 wurde es als Museum wiederaufgebaut. Dabei wurde nur die äußere Fassade originalgetreu wiederhergestellt. Im Inneren entstanden moderne Ausstellungsflächen. Die Schlossfassade wird bis zum Stadtgeburtstag von Karlsruhe im Jahr 2015 umfassend saniert.

The Karlsruhe Palace was built in 1715 in Baroque style as a residence fit for Margrave Karl Wilhelm of Baden-Durlach.
The original building was built by Jakob Friedrich von chunk village. First, the building was made of wood. 1746 the building was completely modernized and it was built of stone. The most striking exterior features of this reform were the larger windows and doors and the two pavilions between the central section and the side wings of the facility. The castle has two storeys and attic on the top floor.
The tower has seven floors and is 51 meters high.
renovation:
During the Second World War, the Karlsruhe Palace burned down by bomb attacks in September 1944. Between 1955 and 1966 it was rebuilt as a museum. Only the outer facade was restored to the original. Inside modern exhibit space created. The castle facade is undergoing extensive restoration to the city of birth of Karlsruhe in 2015.
