Merritt, British Columbia is nicknamed the "Country Music Capital of Canada"
Annually for the last 12 years Merritt hosts the Mountain Music Festival. The festival draws over 15,000 fans that come to Merritt to enjoy the music of some of Country Music biggest stars.
In 2005, Michelle Laughery creativity shows through with this huge mural of Tim McGraw. This larger than life mural exemplifies his superstar status. This is one of eighty murals she has to her credit throughout British Columbia.
Tim McGraw Country Music superstar personified was born on May 1, 1967, in Delhi, Louisiana. He was one of the most popular "Young Country" stars to emerge in the 1990s.
"Not a Moment Too Soon" became the number one country hit in its first week on the charts. Tim McGraw won Academy of Country Music Awards for male vocalist of the year and vocal event of the year (with Faith Hill) for "Just to Hear You Say that You Love Me," and Country Music Association Awards for male vocalist of the year and album of the year as artist and producer, for "A Place in the Sun".
