Confucius (551–479 BC) was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher and one of the most influential persons in Chinese and world history.
This brass bust of the philosopher is located in front of the Chinese School in the small, unincorporated town of Locke, which, in the beginning of the 20th century, was California's largest rural China Town.
The bust stands next to a bust of Chinese politician Sun Yat-sen.
