The building was built in the early 1950's for the Midland Buckeye Savings & Loan co. at 260 E. Main Street in Alliance. In 1989 the business went in receivership and closed. The building remained empty until 2011 when the Cat Fanciers Association bought the building for the new headquarters and museum.
