Die Skulptur "Laokoon II" ist eine abstrakte Neuinterpretation der antiken Statur des griechischen Priesters Laokoon. Dieser versuchte der Sage nach vergeblich die Trojaner vor dem geschenkten, hölzernen Pferd zu warnen. Daraufhin wurden er und seine beiden Söhne von zwei Schlangen getötet.
Die im Jahre 1977 von Volkmar Haase (1930 - 2012) geschaffene Skulptur aus poliertem Edelstahl hat eine Höhe von 2,50 m, eine Breite von 5,00 m und eine Tiefe von 3,70 m.
The sculpture "Laokoon II" is an abstract interpretation of the ancient statue of the Greek priest Laocoon. According to the legend, he tried to warn the Trojans of the donated, wooden horse without success. Thereafter he and his two sons were killed by two snakes.
The sculpture, made of polished stainless steel, was created in 1977 by Volkmar Haase (1930 - 2012) and has a height of 2.50 m, a width of 5.00 m and a depth of 3.70 m.
