Depicted monumental specimen of lime, called Tisíciletá lípa (Thousand-year-old Lime) you can find in village square of a small village Stará Lysá in Central Bohemia region of the Czech Republic.
This beatiful tree, which won a silver medal in the Czech Tree of the year 2007 competition, belongs among the most important monumental trees in the region. Its age is unclear, in some sources you can find 1000 years, but dendrologists estimate its age close to 500 years. Thousand-year-old Lime is protected by the state in the category of Memorial Tree (Pamatny strom) from 1975.
