This is a very significant coordinate for those who are attempting to earn credit for End-to-end status on the Finger Lakes Trails, as it is the easternmost end, and the hardest to get to, much less hike.

The Finger Lakes Trail system, over 950 miles in length. The main branch runs from the Pennsylvania-New York border in Allegany State Park to the Long Path in the Catskill Forest Preserve (approximately 560 miles), with branch trails to Niagara Falls (Conservation Trail -200 miles), the Genesee River valley (Bristol Hills and. Letchworth Branches), the Great Eastern Trail south of Corning (Crystal Hills Trail), the central Finger Lakes (Interloken Branch), and the Syracuse region (Onondaga Branch).

Most End-to-Enders hike it over 6-8 years, through a series of organized group hikes with the Finger Lakes Trails Conference, but this eastern end must still be done largely as an individual effort. The FLT Conference hosts hike weekends each spring and fall, which are often held at the Frost Valley YMCA camp, and over several camp out weekends during the years you are working through the county series', you could manage to complete the Ulster and Sullivan County portions during those events.

It can be done as a through hike in one hiking season at 10 miles a day for 56 days, or 20 miles a day for a month.

The intermediate coordinates are the first set of coordinates of each map segment, of which there are 33... You can order the maps (on Tyvek waterproof/tear proof paper) through the FLT online store, and you can get GPS coordinate sets there too.
