The steam engine with horizontal cylinder was manufactured by the foundry Trottier St. Casimir at the turn of the 19th century. It provided energy to sawmills in the region until 1940.On Included are elements reminiscent of mahine invented in 1769 by British James Weiss. (plate of the machine).
This machine is on display in the small park next to the historic convent.
La machine à vapeur à cylindre horizontale a été fabriquée par la fonderie Trottier de St-Casimir au tournant du 19ème siècle. Elle fournissait l'énergie aux moulins à scie de la région jusqu'en 1940.On y retrouve les éléments rappelant la mahine inventée en 1769 par le britannique James Weiss. (plaque de la machine).
Cette machine est exposé dans le petit parc à côté du couvent historique.
