This peak is listed as the 8th highest of the Adirondack high peaks. It is very close to Algonquin (2nd highest, as is Wright Peak)

It only barely qualifies as a seperately mountain... the rules being it must be 1 mile away and at least 600 feet elevation change in between.

The most direct way to the summit is over Algonquin Peak, so an aspiring 46R can rightfully claim they've summited Algonquin twice in the process. There is another way... It's only two miles by herd path up from Lake Colden, but there are no roads to Lake Colden, so you'd have to find the trail there first!

Total round trip from Adirondack Loj, Van Hovenburg Trail trailhead is 11.6 miles, and my daughter and I made the trek in 10 hours with rest stops at each summit.

There is no benchmark or other survey disk on the top of this one, unless it's under a cairn. The consensus of other hikers is that the cairn with the stick in the middle represents the summit, so we took our pictures from there.
