The plaque is mounted high on the retaining wall directly in front of the church, so we must assume that the church, or its members, was responsible for its placement. No information is forthcoming on Robert Barrie, save for the fact that he is interred in Mountain View Cemetery, which is just below Rossland along Highway 22/3B.990000
The plaque indicates that Robert passed away on the 27th of March, 1944. In his lifetime he must have made an impact on the church, as this is the only plaque to be found at the church in remembrance of an individual.
St. Andrew's United Church is located one block north of Columbia Avenue at 2100 First Avenue, directly east across Queen Street from the old Fire Hall.
