We found this place purely by accident in 2009 while living in Yoakum, TX. We needed to get a way for a weekend and we have been going back ever since.

Indianola, the place to be. Located at the mouth of Powderhorn Bayou, it provides excellent fishing for trout, redfish and flounder. Previously known as Ed Bell's Bait Camp, this town has thrived on excellent fishing and duck hunting. Indianola is where German immigrants came to settle in America. Once the largest port on the Texas coast, several 1800's hurricanes came through and moved the people inward. Since that time Galveston took over and the town seat of Indianola moved to Port Lavaca. Since hurricane Carla, the people moved out, but the fish are still here. Slowly people are coming back and now Indianola is where the "ACTION" is! Come fish under the lights or launch to fish your favorite fishing spot. The wells and jetties are just a short distance away.

Indianola Fishing Marina

Located at the Powderhorn Bayou on the Texas Gulf Coast. This is definitely one of the best kept secrets in the Texas.

Indianola Fishing Marina offers everything you need for a day or night of fishing. They have a large selection of bait, a restaurant, and plenty of cold drinks. The back patio is covered and has plenty of tables and chairs. Friday nights (usually)feature an inexpensive steak dinner cooked to order on the patio.

For you boaters, they offer a boat ramp and gasoline.

RV hookups with electricity are available as is several cabins.

When the sun goes down they light up the water with six huge spotlights and the night fishing action begins!

Fish that I have caught (See Photos): 48 inch black drum, rays, catfish, dogfish, croaker, sheephead, puffers and others.

Directions from PORT LAVACA - Take TX 238 South to TX 316, Follow TX 316 until you come to Ocean Drive, at the end of Ocean Drive, turn Right on Bell Street. If you get lost, call them.
Recommended tackle: Medium to Heavy Tackle - Steel Leaders

Recommended fishing methods:
If you throw it out there, you are probably going to catch something. It could be a fish, or it could be a hunk of oysters, but you will catch something. Almost any bait will work, but if you want to catch drum you need to use live crab.
