Th flag of Hölstein was introduced in 1945. The eagle is taken from the flag of the family von Eptingen who owned the area in the 14th and 15th century. But the colors are the ones of the Cluniac Abbey of Payerne, that also had some substantial interests in the village these days.
I found two flags of Hölstein at the town hall.
