In the Village Cemetery at Huckleberry Hill Road and Sunset Terrace in Collinsville in Canton, CT a memorial honors the citizens of Canton, CT who died during the Civil War. The 8' high granite monument, fabricated by the Stephen Maslen Company, was installed on May 30, 1903. The south side contains a dedication and the north side contains a a bronze plaque which lists 39 names and a two line inscription giving rank, unit, date, and cause and place of death for each person.
South side contains the raised Seal of Connecticut and the inscription:

STATE OF CONNECTICUT AND
THE COLLINSVILLE CEMETERY
ASSOCIATION IN MEMORY OF
THE MEN OF CANTON WHO
OFFERED UP THEIR LIVES A
SACRIFICE IN THE CIVIL WAR
1861 – 1865, AND WHOSE BODIES
WERE NEVER BROUGHT HOME
