Very appropriately, this first Australian Trig Waymark is one that many visitors to Hobart visit. It is easily accessible by car and offers amazing views of the lovely Hobart and surrounds.

Referred to simply as 'the Mountain' locally, Hobart is built mostly on the lower foothills of Mt Wellington. The slopes of the mountain are covered in bushland and crossed by walking tracks and fire trails, making it a playground for bushwalkers, geocachers, and now waymarkers.
There is a road to the summit which makes this an easily accessible waymark, however those with time may choose to take one of the many track leading to the area. A short scramble up some rocks is required to get to the trig.
Warning: The summit of Mt Wellington is often at least 10 C cooler than temperatures in Hobart city, and weather conditions change rapidly. Bushwalkers should be prepared for rapid changes in temperature, rain, and should carry water and sun hats.
