A nicely maintained Civil War Memorial is located on the north end of the town common opposite the Town Hall in Troy, NH.

A 25' tall tiered, square, stone column with an overhanging cap is dedicated to the memory of the defenders of the Union. The front of the column has a large carved image of the Grand Army of the Republic emblem consisting of a five pointed star suspended from a flag ribbon with an eagle perched on top. A pair of cannons decorate the front and back lower base. A pair of cross rifles are on the two sides of the shaft. A wreath is carved on the back.
The front of the monument has the inscription:

The back of the column is inscribed:
