Rifle Gap sits north of Rifle, Colorado, USA. The location became a huge, temporary art piece in 1971-1972 by internationally known artists Cristo and Jeanne-Claude. The gap was temporarily covered with a bright orange nylon curtain; it was called the Valley Project. There is a historic marker just to the north of the gap in a special disabled fishing and picnic area (photos uploaded).
