Washoe Park's tennis courts are at the front of the park, visible from Pennsylvania Street. Access is from the driveway and parking lot immediately west of the courts. The courts are in great shape - either relatively new or recently refurbished. There are four courts inside a chain link fence. The courts are free for all to enjoy.
This was the first park in the City of Anaconda, opened in 1890. In the same year a city tramway system was constructed, with a line running from the city centre out to the park. With such easy access the park became a social centre, seeing events and picnics, both impromptu and company sponsored, filling the park through the summers. This is a beautiful park with Warm Springs Creek running through, playgrounds, tennis courts, a basketball court, workout area, swimming pool and a baseball field.
