Close to the city of Vienna is a place for railway
enthusiasts. The railway museum Strasshof “Das
Heizhaus” is located on the premises of a former
railway depot that was in regular service until
1978. It was founded by the „1. österreichischen
Straßenbahn- und Eisenbahnklub“(1. öSEK) and
opened its gates to public in 1984. Visitors have
the possibility to experience a multiplicity of
engines and coaches in an historic atmosphere
Opening Hours:
opend from April 1st until October 26th
Tuesday to Sunday and on holiday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Groups only with advance reservation.
Visitation Days:
On regular opening days you can visit the museum and the outside area with it’s railway exhibits
and infrastructure.
Model Railway
On every opening day the a small model railway
can be operated by children.

museum by our group of volunteers
• over 100 volunteers work at the museum
