A plaque below the stone marker reads:

"The "Standehaus" House of Estates, stood at this location from 1867 to 1970. It was the first time the Liechtenstein parliament had it's own building. Due to it's political importance, the House of Estates was considered the center point of the country on which the scale of milestones along the main road in Liechtenstein was guaged. This is why the "Km. 0. + 0. Km." symbol was engraved in it's threshold."
