This cannon is on display in the inner gate to Lenzburg Castle, that is still in the area that can be visited without charge.
The cannon was casted in 1792 for the Canton Bern. It was probably in use until 1798, when the Bernese rule over this area ended.
The cannon is called "Jugendfestkanone" (Youth Festival Cannon), because it is has been used in the maneuvers during the traditional Lenzburg Youth Festival since at least 1852 (the festival is annual, but the maneuvers only take place in even years).
In 1968 and again in 1991 it was restored.
