Kenny Rogers stood on the courthouse steps here while filming "Coward of the County " in 1980. In 2002 I believe was the year for the film "Sweet Home Alabama" with Reese Witherspoon was filmed here. Also along the street scenes were filmed with Kristy McNichols in the "Summer of My German Soldier" a made for TV movie in the 1977 era. A panning shot of the courthouse appeared in each.
