To find the Chinese Cemetery: From Hwy. 200 turn NW on Main Street and take Highland Avenue to the cemetery. It is only 300 meters. That is the easy part: you will need to rely on your GPS as it is very overgrown and you must look carefully.

While visiting Hope, we knew that an old Chinese Cemetery was in the area. After much searching, we stopped and talked with one of the locals. It was a good thing as she lived in the area most of her life, and after a long conversation she finally remembered that long ago she recalled there being an old cemetery close by. She gave us what information about its possible location, and the search was on again.

We stopped at several possible locations and finally we discovered it. We walked back and forth on the road and I spotted what could be the cemetery.

After much investigation, I learned there are actually 26 known interments that are now long forgotten. The Chinese Cemetery is a tiny abandoned cemetery located in Bonner County. It was established about 1890.

What you will discover are several graves marked with old wooden fencing, some are almost falling down. There is one gravesite that is just a small square cement flush marker.
