Marker text: The high ideals of patriotism, courage, sacrifice and honor were the basis for the creation of the Liberty Memorial following the end of World War II in 1918. Today, the Liberty Memorial stands as a national monument to those who served in World War I. It serves to ensure a legacy of hope for the peace and iberty for which they fought.
Patritism is distinguished by a civic crown
Courageis crowned by a helmet
Sacrifice is marked by a winged star on the forehead
Honor wears a laurel wreath
The sword they each hold stands for peaceful guardianship not for war.
Noted sculptor Robert Aiken designed the Guardian Spirits.
The Link, an elevated 880-foot long elevated pedestrian walkway, offers enclosed, climate-controlled access between the Hyatt Regency Crown Center Hotel and the Westin Crown Center Hotel, as well as the Crown Center Shops and office buildings in the complex. An additional elevated pedestrian walkway links the Westin with the newly remodeled Union Station.
