Die Johanniskirche wurde im Jahre 1702 im reformierten Land lutherisch geweiht. Im zweiten Weltkrieg wurde die Stadt bereits 1944 einmal bombardiert. Dabei wurde diese Kirche ebenfalls zerstört. Während allerdings die Kirche St. Marien als Mahnmal bis 1989 als Ruine stand, ist die Johanniskirche bereits 1955 aus den Trümmern wiederauferstanden.
Heute kann man in der Kirche unter Anderen, die Gemälde "Christus am Ölberg", "das Abendmahlsgemälde" und "das Kreuzigungsgemälde" von Lucas Cranach bewundern.
St. John's Lutheran Church was consecrated in 1702 in the reformed country. During World War II the city was bombed in 1944 once. This church was also destroyed. However, while St. Mary's Church was in ruins as a memorial to 1989, the St. John's Church in 1955, rose again from the rubble.
Today you can in the Church among others, admiring the painting "Christ on the Mount of Olives," "The Last Supper painting" and "The Crucifixion painting" by Lucas Cranach.
