At 21:52:59 PDT the ISS reached an altitude of 61° and a magnitude of -3.1 over Santa Clara, CA (
visit link) . At 21:54:20 PDT it reached an altitude of 60° and a magnitude of -3.1 over Corona, CA (
visit link) .
Our locations in Santa Clara and Corona were 350 miles apart, and it took the ISS 1 min 21 sec to travel the distance.
In Corona, I had good weather. There was a slight haze, but the skies were clear with no clouds. We picked a pass where the ISS was more than bright enough to be seen even in areas of California with urban light pollution. The highly recognizable constellation of the Big Dipper was overhead, and it helped to orient the sky chart since the ISS path went right by it. I was at the tail end of the visible portion of this pass, and I watched the ISS enter the earth's shadow and "disappear" at 21:54:35 PDT.
Thanks, saopaulo1!
