The Saint Richard Cemetery is a community cemetery in Flathead County. There are approximately 340 gravesites. The last interment was in January 2014 and the cemetery is still active.
We did photograph Margaret Holland's gravestone and this could be the first interment, however her remains could have been placed at a later date. She was born 1823 and died July 16, 1893.
There were two recorded burials in the St. Richard Cemetery in 1897. Mary Rozmahel was born December 24, 1867 and died May 12, 1897 and also Joseph Bartel born 1866 and died 1897.
The last recorded interment is most likely John Anthony Senin who was born August 10, 1924 and died January 27, 2014.
John Anthony Senin, 89 years old, passed away January 27, 2014 in Whitefish, Montana, with his wife, Ann, and eldest daughter at his side. John was born in Philadelphia, PA and he was raised in the Ukranian Byzantine Rite.
He entered the US Marine Corps at age 18 and worked as a parachute rigger from 1943-1945, using the GI Bill to educate himself in several English-speaking countries including Australia, Ireland and Canada. He met and married his wife, Ann, in 1972 and moved to Whitefish, Montana and bought Allen's Motel. John continued to pursue property investments over the course of 40 years.
John was a loving father and husband, who committed every day of his life to God. He was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, loved to take long nature walks and appreciated life to the fullest.
John has one remaining sister and is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He will live on in the hearts of his wife, his five children: Christine, John, Mary, Patrick and Monica and six grandchildren.
