The map shows an outline of the park area and indicates the various areas and locations within the park as well as tube stations outside the park. Locations marked are for vehicle and pedestrian access, car parks, picnic areas and toilets.

A red dot shows the "you are here" position and this is referred to in the legend. The "dot" appears to be out os position and should be, as an estimate, about 30 metres north-north-west of the position indicated.

The Trent Country Park website tells us:

Trent Country Park lies in 413 acres of rolling meadows, enchanting brooks, exquisite lakes, ancient woodland, and imposing historical sites. It forms part of London's Green Belt and being a country park it provides a natural, rural and tranquil atmosphere right on the outskirts of London on the borders of Enfield.

Rarity and distinctiveness lend the landscape an unusual beauty. Visitors can enjoy large open spaces for walking, jogging, cycling, horse riding, golfing or just chilling out in serene, bucolic and picturesque surroundings.

The magnificent stretches of Trent Country Park incorporate the wooded remnants of Enfield Chase, former royal hunting ground. Muntjac deer, rabbits, pheasants are nowadays the proud inhabitants of the park, and if you are very lucky you can catch a glimpse of them roaming over their land.

The scenery of Trent Country Park is immensely ancient, a relic of the Royal Hunting Forest of Enfield Chase which was mentioned in the Domesday Book, the immense survey of England conducted by William the Conqueror in 1086.

What gives Trent Country Park its distinctive character is that it has survived almost unchanged from those from those days when it served for nearly 400 years as royal hunting ground. Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and James I could be seen on their regal horses hunting deer in the splendid forest.

In 1777 George III gave the site to his favourite doctor Richard Jebb as a reward for saving the life of the King’s younger brother, the then Duke of Gloucester. It is not clear what he was cured of but it occurred in the Italian Alps at Trento; hence the name of the park.

Dr Jebb had a small villa built in a classical style by the architect William Chambers (who also created Somerset House). The house was bought in 1852 by the Bevan Family ( part of the  Barclays Bank)
