The Dorsey House at 8 East Third Street was built in the eighteen century but the exact date is not known, it was sold to the Dorsey family in 1800. The brick two-story three bay house was constructed by Jeremiah Bowman. The house was constructed in two sections initially two bays wide with an additional bay added to the south endwall. This addition was early in the dwelling's existence. The house appears to be in good condition and continues to serve as a private residence.
