Nash Library was opened on April 22, 1951. It is named after Mell Achille Nash (1890-1981), the 5th President of this college (1927-1943). This is a three-story building with a full-height portico at the front.
The library is open to USAO students, faculty and staff, as well as alumni belonging to the alumni association. The public may read and research at the library, but cannot borrow books off-premises. The library has various hours depending on the school year, as shown below.
The library has a Math and Science Lab on the third floor where university and high school students can be tutored by other students. The Lab is open Mon-Thurs from 9am to 7pm and on Friday from 9am to 5pm.
There is also a Writing Center on the third floor open to all USAO students. Tutors provide help to students working on all kinds of writing projects, including: Understanding assignment instructions, thesis statements, paper organization, sentence structure, and English as a Second Language (ESL) writing.
