Built in 1974 as Alberta Wheat Pool #1, we expect that there previous Pool elevators in Trochu, meaning that this was a replacement for an older elevator. This type, with the double attached annexes, is known as a
Double Composite Wood Elevator. Its capacity would be about 160,000 to 170,000 bushels. Closed a decade or more ago, it is now privately owned and used for grain storage.
