While Corky's has branched out with franchises -- they even had one in Biloxi, MS, which was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina -- the general rule of thumb is that some of them can be hits, others can be misses. Therefore, for the best experience, one should go here, right to the original. Be prepared for long waits during busy hours, and there isn't a whole lot of space to wait inside. The drive-thru is always an option for those who don't want to wait. The QDVs had Corky's barbecue in the QDV Mobile II and in their hotel room several times before actually being able to dine in.
This is Memphis, known for their terrific dry ribs, the rub being a fine powder. For those accustomed to sauce on their ribs, they call them "wet" here, and diners have their choice of dry or wet, or a combination. They have a few varieties of sauce, including sweet, smoky, and spicy. If ribs isn't your thing, they serve plates of pulled pork, brisket, chicken, turkey, catfish, and pork and spaghetti (in barbecue sauce, of course). Also available are sandwiches of the same meats, plus sausage. Baked potatoes, spaghetti (with marinara sauce, not barbecue sauce), chicken tenders, and shrimp are other options. Desserts are available, too, but you may not have room after all that food!
There's a children's menu here (which isn't barbecue food), and soft drinks, lemonade, and iced tea (sweetened and unsweetened) are available. So is a small selection of beer.
