Churchill Park, operated by the Corporation of the City of Cambridge is a well planned, forward thinking venue with something for the whole family.

Coming in from the entrance on Water Street (Highway 24), you can see a walkway leading from the parking lot, and going around the pond. There is a gathering area at the mini grist mill replica there which is paved and surrounded by natural stone retaining walls at seating height. The area is planted to provide seasonal colour, and is a picturesque setting for wedding photos, or just relaxing. While water no longer flows past the mill wheel, it has been kept as an important part of the structure. The retaining walls offer views of Moffat Creek, and the sounds of the water continue to be heard.

Moffat Creek (9.5km) and it's significant wetlands within the park have been rehabilitated in several key areas with the goal of restoring the creek to a more natural healthy condition, which means cleaner water and more wildlife. Erosion protection has been provided by "soil bioengineering" which is a technique that uses plants to stabilize the soil and strengthen creek banks as they grow.

Located near the Grand River, on the hilly Galt Moraine, this 27 hectare park plays host to a number of events throughout the year. One such event is the Cambridge Highland Games which is held each July.

Churchill Park has a small animal viewing area (deer pen, pheasant pen, waterfowl area), wheelchair accessible children's playground area, splash pad, ball diamonds, soccer fields, a reservable picnic area (without a covered shelter), and nature trails.

The Duncan McIntosh Arena is located within Churchill Park (Christopher Dr. entrance) and for ice time availability you can contact the Arenas Division at (519) 740-4681 ext. 4017.

Also located within Churchill Park is a small campground area with 14 serviced sites. There is a washroom/shower building adjacent to the campground, as well as a site for disposal of septic waste from trailers etc. Reservations are not taken for the campground - it operates on a first come - first served basis, and there is a 3 night maximum stay. An honour box is located on the washroom building, and it is asked that payment for your stay in the campground be placed in same. Fees for camping change annually so please call (519) 740-4681, ext 4214 for the most up to date fees.
