Welsh Cemetery

In this cemetery are buried pioneer settlers, including Ann (McSwain) Clendenin Rogers, the heroine of the Clendenin massacre by Shawnee Indians. July 13, 1763, and the siege of Fort Donnally in 1778, by over 200 Indians.


Pontiac's War

Massacre of white families on Muddy Creek and of the Clendenins near here by a band of Shawnee Indians led by Chief Cornstalk, in 1763 completed the destruction of the early settlement on the Greenbrier Vally.
