The marsh has trails, an interpretive centre, and four observation mounds. Almost 300 species of birds may be found here and it is hugely popular with birders.

There are four observation mounds offering panoramic views of the marsh. Many types of birds nest here during the summer, and the marsh is a major stopping point for migrating birds in spring and fall. What activities are available?: Hiking and bicycling are permitted on the trails. The principle activity is wildlife observation, particularly birds. Guided walks and interpretive programs, and canoeing and snowshoeing are also available. Fishing is permitted (a standard provincial license is required).
