The water tower is a white double ellipsoidal tank supported by eight steel legs. It has "Kingsville" painted in blue trimmed with gold and "A Living Legend" painted in just blue. There is also the silhouette of a cowboy on horseback rounding up a head of cattle.
Kingsville is named after Captain Richard King, owner of nearby King Ranch which was founded in 1853 long before Kingsville was established in 1904. The King Ranch still operates today and is one of the world's largest ranches (825,000 acres).
