(Quelle: (visit link)

The Burgenweg is 7,5 km long. Hiking time approx 2.5 hours.
"The Annweilerer Burgenweg leads from Annweiler by the natural beauty of the southern Palatinate Forest up to the three castles that moved into the focal point of European history in the Middle Ages. The custody of the imperial regalia, which is the symbol of power of the kingdom, highlights the exceptional position of the Trifels as heavily fortified refuge. The castles Anebos and Scharfenberg were seats of ministry officials, who provided the protection of the main castle and the crown jewels. Their position on the ridge of rock riffs, imprinted since then the landscape and today, despite the structural losses due to decay and destruction, the most impressive castle silhouettes Germany. The Burgenweg was awarded in 2010 by the German Hiking Institute as Premiumweg. A hike on beautiful paths through the Trifelswald and always offers wonderful views of the Palatinate Forest, castles and rocks and in the Rhine valley."
