This statue is another of the approximately 200 replicas that were placed around the country by the Boy Scouts of America in honor of their 40th anniversary. This particular one is located in downtown Gary, IN across the street from city hall. It stands about 8' tall and is listed in the Smithsonian Art Inventory.
There are many other interesting statues and monuments in this area of this once proud city.
