As well as the inscriptions there are three images cast into the plaque. At top centre is a roundel with a sailing ship within with sail furled. Around the bottom is the inscription "Borough of Folkestone". At the left side is an image of a soldier holding a rifle and at the right edge is the symbol of Kent. A horse with front legs off the ground and the inscription "Invicta" above.
