All that remains of this church, built in 1850, is the tower. The remainder having been destroyed by a bomb in 1942. At each corner, at the top of the tower, is a stone gargoyle.

The gargoyles have not been observed during rain so it is not known whether they work or not. In the absence of rain pipes it is probable that they are still functional and shed the water from the top of the tower.

The tower is Grade II listed with the entry at the English Heritage website telling us:

Built 1850-1 by Sydney Smith. Only the tower now remains, the rest of the church having been hit by a bomb during the Second World War. 4 stages. Built of stone rubble. Buttresses. Crockets and stone gargoyles to parapet.

Water spout is used: yes

Condition: Lightly Weathered
