The High School Rodrigues de Freitas is a school of 2. And 3. Cycles of basic and secondary school in Porto, Portugal.
The School will seek its origins to the decree of November 17, 1836. Passos Manuel who created the National School of Porto, the institution which came into operation four years later. Later it was renamed Central High School and of Porto, by decree of September 9, 1908, the Liceu D. Manuel II.
The present building, located at Plaza de Pedro Nunes, in the parish of Porto Cedofeita, dates from 1932-1933 and is designed by the architect Marques da Silva. In addition to its large size, the building is equipped with various facilities, unusual at the time in school buildings, including a science museum, a meteorological observatory, several laboratories for chemistry, physics and biology, four gymnasiums, a swimming pool, a library, a theater, two art workshops, two drawing rooms, canteen and bar, as well as numerous classrooms and other equipment.
