Slated for an on-time opening in late summer 2014, the stadium will host Super Bowl L in 2016.
Green technology and a great fan experience were top priorities for the firm building this stadium (HNTB), so while its top draw will be the world-champion San Francisco 49ers, it will also serve as a multi-functional recreational facility, hosting soccer and wrestling events, college-level bowl games, concerts, corporate events and other community activities.
