The river - as well as the canals - it's an excellent way of transportation in Bangkok, a city usually plagued by the intense traffic generation by its 8 million inhabitants.

There are several routes serving a number of piers located in both banks of the river.

This pier is one of the most central, and it's served by the Blue, Orange, Yellow and Tourist line. The boats will have a colored flag - easily spotted - which identifies the route of the boat. A good option to get to Chinatown.

Besides the functional task, these boats are excellent for tourists. The ticket is exceptionally cheap - 0,35 Eur (flat rate) in April 2014 - and a ride is a great way to spend time and see Bangkok from the river.
